An Evangelical Church in the Heart of Thatcham

Misspellers untie!!

Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn’t mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe.

I had the rare privilege the other week to take three days out and go on a course in London. Twenty exhausting hours of lectures, with one end in mind of uncovering the single storyline of the Bible.

We were two days in and still not a single mention of Jesus.

I have to say the course left its mark on me – I hadn’t learned any new Bible stories – I hadn’t learned anything very much that I didn’t already know – instead I saw that God, in writing the Old Testament, made it virtually impossible to be in any doubt about who this New Testament Jesus was – a once for all sacrifice for all of the sin of mankind.

Listen to what Scripture says:

“…since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities— his eternal power and divine nature— have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.” Romans chapter 1 verses 19-20

Many things in this world in which we live in can be very confusing – BUT be assured: the huamn mnid deos not nede to gasrp ervey snigle prta cmopeeltly to sitll clelary udnresantd the palin mssaege.

I am the Pastor at Thatcham Evangelical Church in West Berkshire. This is an FIEC (Fellowship of Evangelical Churches) affiliated church.
